I came across an interesting (and somewhat random) Buzzfeed list called “28 Things Literally Everyone Does Without Realising It”.
I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised to find myself nodding in agreement as I scrolled my way down said list (and some of these were down-right weird!!).
So, it got me thinking, how normal is my weird??
Well I’ve decided to share a few of the ones that really jumped out at me so you can see for yourself!
You feel bad about not helping a repairman who comes to your home, even though you’re paying them to do the job.
Yes, yes, yes, 100 times yes; and not only that, I’m continually asking them if they’d like a cuppa… are they sure… or maybe a glass of water… there might be coffee there somewhere… is there anything else they need… (I’m not even like this with people I actually know!!).
You rehearse both sides of an argument with someone in your head just in case it comes up.
All the time; and then they have the audacity to not follow the script! 🙄
You say “ouch” when you bump into something* even if it didn’t hurt and there’s no one around.
Then they apologise and you feel too stupid to admit it actually didn’t hurt so you have to just accept the apology and pretend you’re ok now and it gets awkward for all involved! (On a side note I also apologise to many inanimate objects, most recently a mannequin in Dunnes!).
You feel an overwhelming urge to clear all the notifications on your phone for no other reason than to have a clean phone.
Nope, this one is definitely not me! I currently have 21 voice mails, 27 unread text messages as well as randomly 41 notifications for Groupon and 28 for FunkyPigeon 🤷🏼.
John has threatened on many occasions to take my phone and get rid of all the notifications, they seem to multiply 😂😂 . I don’t mind them…although my gmail account has over 75000 emails so I might have issues!
You need to find the perfect TV show to watch before you can eat the food you just made for yourself, even if it means the food will get cold.
This is totally me!!! Plus, I get really annoyed when the ads are on when I do eventually find something!!! (Although who actually watches live TV these days!?!) It’s the same with Netflix, I will wait until the program has started playing before I start eating.
You feel an urge to turn the radio down when you realise you’re lost.
Let’s be honest, it’s not just an urge! I have no idea why I think it will help, but I have never found the address I was looking for without doing it and I’m not about to try!
You can’t have a long conversation on the phone without doing a full walking tour of your home.
I do this all the time. It’s my main source of steps for my daily exercise goal lol.
I would do it while FaceTiming as well but the WiFi in my apartment is temperamental and I’m fed up getting screen shots from John where I look like this.
You often worry that people in a store will suspect you of shoplifting even if you’re not doing anything wrong.
I’m the person walking out of Asda with 3 items (Not in a bag cause I’m forever forgetting them) and holding my receipt so it’s very clearly obvious I’ve paid!
Your brain has a habit of remembering a random embarrassing moment from years ago when you’re just minding your own business or trying to get to sleep.
This doesn’t happen, although you can only imagine how little sleep I’d get if it did 😂.
You check behind the shower curtain when you go to the bathroom, just in case there’s someone hiding in there.
Now, I should point out that I do check behind the shower curtain, as well as the living room, bathroom and hall doors, but that’s mostly because either Mj or John (or sometimes both) are hiding behind them waiting to scare the crap out of me!!
When someone slows down to let you cross the road, you feel like you need to hurry across because you don’t want them to think you’re taking advantage.
Lol, not only do I do this but I also do that little apologetic smile with the raised eyebrows and a half-hearted wave.
Check out the link to the original Buzzfeed piece below, and let me know how normal your weird is…
