I love pizza, I mean who doesn’t!?! (apart from my daughter who will only eat pepperoni and actually orders a portion of the stuff when we get takeaway…I kid you not; it comes wrapped in a it of tinfoil in a takeaway box). So I was instantly drawn to the impressive sight (and smell) of Il Carro Della Pizza (Carrickmore) and the impressive wood fire oven. The fact it only takes a few mins to prepare and cook the gourmet 12 inch pizzas (a fact my daughter found very impressive lol) they also tasted delicious, fresh and with the right balance of crispy and soft (you know the texture, it holds its shape and has a bit of crunch but you just know its fresh as anything!).
Cathal is a true gentleman, a good laugh and really passionate about his pizzas. If he can prepare and cook pizzas to that standard while my daughter is nattering away to him, then he’s better than me lol. I’ve heard his garlic pizza is top notch as well so I’ll be trying that next time our paths cross. Il Carro Della Pizza caters for parties and special occasions and uses local ingredients where possible. Their goats cheese is from Fivemiletown, their Buffalo mozzarella is from Cork, the bacon is Kennnedy’s in Omagh and their chicken is locally sourced as well. I love the fact their plates are fully biodegradable and compostable and the kiln dried wood used is locally sourced Irish hard woods.
I wonder if they deliver…?
